If you have to force the "door" closed or it closes too easily you've probably got it wrong. When you close the "door", you will feel pressure as the filter seal engages the "door". The ETS MAF Intake Includes a huge 5 inlet K+N air filter which feeds the intake. Now close the "door" and engage the clamps. The performance improvement of this system is dyno proven and K&N has. Just make sure you have the filter oriented the right way in the front half of the airbox (labeled #4), engage the rear half's tabs in the bottom slots - the tabs act like the hinge on a door (labeled #1). Replacing the filter is something you get a feel for after a few times, since you can't really see well. I didn't have any particular issues doing it but once assembled I cannot visually inspect it to be certain the lower halves sealed properly. then compare that to the denseness of the weave in the paper or K&N/Green/etc. Since the MAF is on the filtered side of the air box would it perhaps read out of spec if the air box halves aren't sealed? Would I expect a difference in engine behavior? Something else? Just want to be certain I don't pull in unfiltered air. I have no reason to believe it didn't but, given I don't want to be pulling in unfiltered air, I'd like to know if there are any signs I should keep an eye out for which may indicate it wasn't assembled completely.
